Mr Philip Kaloo
MBBS BSc (Hons) CertMEd MRCOG
Mr Philip Kaloo is a Consultant Gynaecologist who specialises in the investigation and treatment of menstrual problems, pelvic pain and endometriosis and works both within the NHS and independently in the Cotswolds. He uses laparoscopic or ‘key-hole’ surgery over open abdominal surgical techniques wherever possible. A few of the significant benefits of ‘key-hole’ surgery are less pain, earlier discharge home and a quicker recovery.
His private practice is based at the Cheltenham Nuffield Hospital, the Gloucester Winfield Hospital and Cirencester Hospital. Consultations, diagnostic investigations and surgery are performed within these hospitals.
Within the NHS he is permanently based at Cheltenham General Hospital and is lead clinician for the NHS menstrual disorders clinic, the endometriosis/pelvic pain clinic and the post-menopausal bleeding clinic at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Having trained at University College Hospital Medical School, London, he completed postgraduate training in Bristol, Cheltenham, Bath, Southampton and Winchester. An additional two years was spent in clinical and laboratory endometriosis research at the University of Sydney, Australia.
